A Master Barber course in the state of Virginia should be designed to prepare students for licensure as a Master Barber in accordance with the regulations of the Virginia Board for Barbers and Cosmetology under the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR).
The program must consist of a minimum of 1000 clock hours of instruction, unless the student is entering through a barber crossover or previously licensed pathway approved by DPOR. Training should include both theory and practical hands-on instruction in the following areas:
